Let’s Build a Healing Village!

If you’ve read my ARTicle  ‘Use Your Subconscious Mind to Create the Life YOU Choose!‘  you would know that you can CREATE whatever you can IMAGINE, and that there’s a PROCESS.

For years, I’ve cultivated the idea of being able to work anywhere in the world, and now I’m doing it; I’ve been in the Gambia since November, facilitating The Self Love Retreat, writing, and also doing book editing jobs.

“Whatever the MIND can CONCEIVE, it can ACHIEVE – you can CREATE whatever you can IMAGINE!”

For years, I’ve also cultivated the idea (seed) of building a VILLAGE – I didn’t know HOW, I just put it out there.  My thinking was that for our commUNITY to truly heal, we need to get back to the way our ancestors lived, in real communities.  We grew and shared food with each other, helped each other raise our children (it takes a village to raise a child), the women were the backbone of the commUNITY, and our elders were given high status, as they had the wisdom and experience to pass down to the next generation.  Children spent time with their grandparents, and benefited from their wisdom.  Men and women knew their roles, and stayed within them; this created HARMONY.

During January I spent a lot of time on my own, in the Silence, tuning IN (it was during this time that I wrote my speech ‘Use Your Subconscious Mind to Create the Life YOU Choose!).  Shortly after, I met brother Musa, who, with his wife Nailah and their commUNITY, are already in the process of building Numbi Healing Village in the Gambia.  From speaking with him, I realized that our visions line up, and so I have now aligned myself with what they are doing, to build Phase 2.  Last week, we had a monumental gathering of Gambians, African-Americans, and African-Caribbeans to see how we could work TOGETHER to build a VILLAGE!  In attendance was a professional builder, surveyor, electrician and an architect, as well as locals, and people ready to invest, such as myself.

Brother Ra, an African-American who lived in Ghana for 10 years, has been in the Gambia for 7 months; his background is in hospitality, tourism and education.  Having been involved in setting up similar projects in Ghana, and learning from their mistakes, he’s now looking to do something similar in the Gambia.  He is a great asset to our project, be a part of it too!

Numbi Village is already fully funded and patronized.  I’m looking for 50 like-minded people to work with me in building Phase 2, Kai Ci Kurbi Village (Kai Ci Kurbi means ‘come home’ in Wollof, one of the main languages spoken in the Gambia).  Read my >> Vision Statement for Kai Ci Kurbi Healing Village <<

Those who were left on the continent did not escape the evils of colonialism, and in my opinion, have suffered just as much as we have psychologically, spiritually, and financially, while others benefit from  the wealth of our Motherland.  By pooling our resources TOGETHER, we can rebuild our infrastructures, and develop a do-for-self attitude, instead of thinking that we need to rely on others to help us heal and rebuild.

Those of us who are the descendants of enslaved Africans, who were stripped of our culture, names, language and spirituality, are slowly finding our way ‘back home’, which I now realize is a state of being.  To facilitate this return to our roots, being in the sun, spending time in nature, eating food provided by Mother Nature, and spending time ‘going within’ is vital.  This is why I’ve organised another Retreat for this November, this time for both women and men, where you’ll be able to see for yourself what we’re doing here, learn more about the vision, and get involved in Phase 2 of the ‘Build a Village’ project, ‘Kai Ci Kurbi’.  It’s time to COME HOME!  I predicted around 3 years ago that in 5 years time, our people are going to have to flee from the UK and USA, and that they’re going to need somewhere to go.  This was the basis upon which I wanted to build a village, so that my people had somewhere to run TO.

Are you ‘coming home’?

Mixed Retreat

Join me in the Gambia November 21-30 for a 10-day Retreat where you will be able to see the first building project, and get involved in Phase 2!  The pilot project, Numbi Village is patronized by around 25 people.  We are looking for 50 people to patronize Phase 2, Kai Ci Kurbi Village (more about this in my next post), to invest in the building project and be ready to move into the Village, (or to provide accommodation for renting.)  The Retreat in November costs just £899 which includes transfers to/from the airport, 9 nights accommodation with breakfast, a visit to Numbi Village building project, a gathering to plan Phase 2 including locals,  3 Self-nurturing workshops with my Self (in place of The Self Love Retreat, optional).  Khensu I-Em Hotep, author of the forthcoming book ‘Spirit-Osis (Spiritual Disorder), the ROOT CAUSE of All Modern Dis-eases‘, and founder of The Melanin Clinic will also be attending the Retreat, sharing important information to help you Self-heal.  We will also have an Evening of Reasoning to discuss the topics raised in my Self-help novel ‘Journey of a Sister‘ which you’ll get FREE when you book to join us on the Retreat!  (It will help you ‘innerstand’ my thinking behind rebuilding our commUNITY).  An overnight trip to Senegal on safari, and a day trip to Kunta Kinte Island are optional extras.  If you’re seriously thinking about getting involved in Phase 2, book your place early, as there are only 10 places on this trip; easy monthly payment plans available – pay a £100 deposit to secure your place, singles and couples welcome:

Sow a Seed…

While we are in the building process, I plan to rent a Retreat home, which will be used to run the Retreats from, this would mean that you only have to pay for your flights and spending money!  We can rent a 5 bedroom house for around £5,000 per year; make a contribution to The Self Love Retreat Fund to enable me to offer subsidized places on each Retreat; The Law of Nature states that if want to reap a harvest, you must sow a seed of that kind, so I’m giving you the opportunity to sow your money seed into fertile soil!

I’m back in London temporarily between March and May…

Journey of a Sister is the story of a young woman raised in the ‘faith’, who reaches a point where she begins to question what she was taught to believe.  She writes God a fearless letter, asking all the questions the church couldn’t answer, and ends it by asking for “the Truth!”.  Join Suzanne on her quest for “the Truth!” about sex before marriage, the creative power of her thoughts, her African ancestry, and the history of the religion she had been indoctrinated into!  It is a beautiful Black Love story that breaks some unspoken taboos in a thought-provoking yet enlightening way that thousands of women and men can relate to, download Years 1-11 FREE!

If you’re free, join me at Hackney Central Library, 1 Reading Lane E8 (opposite Hackney Empire) on Wednesday 6th September from 5.30-7.30pm to discuss the topics raised in the story.  You can also get the paperback which includes Years 12 & 13  for just £5.00 – HALF PRICE!  (To avoid queuing to get your book signed on the day, reserve it when you book your free ticket)

I will also be paving the way for two authors who will be joining me from the USA to take part in the Kings and Queens Book Tour from 1-8th October:

King Kevin Dorival is author of ‘7 Types of Queens, Kings Desire‘ (I wrote the Foreword), and TC Carrier is author of ‘The Secret Science of Black Male and Female Sex‘.  In Year 8 of ‘Journey of a Sister‘  I ‘channelled’ a scene where the couple performed their first sex ritual.  TC’s book explains the science behind these rituals!  It’s no wonder religion is used to suppress our sexual energy – this is where our power lies!  Our ancestors built great civilizations by harnessing their sexual energy, which is a powerful creative force.  Join us on the Kings & Queens Book Tour to explore how we can become great again, and rebuild our empires!

For full details about the tour and to book your tickets (some are free) see my previous blog post (<<click on this link)

I will aim to Facebook Live the event, so if you’re not already connected with me on Facebook, add me now! (Cezanne Taharqa)

Review: African American Research Library Book Festival

I just got back from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I took part in the African American Research Library & Cultural Centre‘s Annual Book Festival, courtesy of King Kevin Dorival!

The building itself was amazing; the equivalent of The Marcus Garvey Library, The Black Cultural Archives, and the Bernie Grant Arts Centre all under one roof! The library also has a state-of-the-art Theatre, and Black History Museum.
On Friday we were taken on a tour of the building by Essy, the Director. We were able to see some of the African artefacts they had accumulated, including some which belonged to the founder of the library, Samuel F. Morrison.
I also got to interview Samuel F. Morrison in the flesh! He is the visionary behind the library, who raised the $60,000,000 needed to build it. It was great to see that they had created a legacy for him while he’s still alive!
Later that evening I was one of the authors who featured in ‘An Evening with the Literary Stars‘, an exclusive evening where we got to pitch our books to the audience for 5 minutes each.
The following day was open to the public; I was on the Romance Panel with two other authors:
We had a lively discussion and afterwards, audience participants purchased their signed copies of our books!  (King Kevin Dorival was also on the panel).

The Kings are Coming!

King Kevin will be coming to London for the Kings & Queens Book Tour taking place on the 1-8th October.  We will be focusing on his newly-released book ‘7 Types of Queens, Kings Desire‘ (I wrote the Foreword).
King Kevin has informed me that  he’ll be on the look-out for his Queen, so ladies, read his book!

I managed to interview King Kevin before I came back to London:

TC Carrier, author of ‘The Secret Science of Black Male and Female Sex‘ is also coming to London to take part in the Kings & Queens Book Tour!
The reason I’ve invited  both King Kevin and TC Carrier to London to take part in the Kings & Queens Book Tour is because both their books compliment my Self-help romance novel ‘Journey of a Sister‘.  All 3 books will really help you on your own journey of Self-discovery!
Tickets will also go on sale shortly, and you’re advised to get yours early – it’s going to be SOLD OUT! (don’t say you weren’t warned!)
The tour will include Book Signing & Discussion Events as well as Workshops; ‘What Type of Queen Are You?‘ ‘What is Spiritual Sex?‘ Come and find out!  Order your books and read them in advance, so you can join in the discussions!

Leaving a Legacy & December Events!

Last week was an event-full week!

On Saturday I attended the Legacy Gala where we championed people within our community who were making a positive impact and leaving a legacy (maybe I’ll be included next year!)  An old friend of mine, Marlon ‘Kush’ Palmer received an award for his contributions to showcasing Black films over the last 20 years (I designed his very first logo!).

I was interviewed at the Gala by ‘No Ordinary Woman’ Chat Show about my novel ‘Journey of a Sister’ – it was a coincidence that I’d only met the presenter Caz-Maz a few days earlier at the Mayor of Southwark’s Office! (That’s another story!)

And last Thursday, I attended the Premier Screening of ‘Birth of a Nation’.  It wasn’t what I expected, as most of the film simply promoted white supremacy, and blatantly showed how the bible was used to subdue my ancestors and turn them docile.  I thought I was going to see an empowering film about revolution, but for me, ‘The Birth of a Nation’ was really about the birth of white supremacy through the enslavement of my ancestors.  As the descendant of an enslaved African, in my opinion, this film did nothing to empower me, and did nothing to honour my ancestors.

The bright side was, I had the opportunity to perform my poem “Who Am I?” before the film started.  It was befitting for me to perform this particular poem, because when I was in Ghana in November 2014, I performed this same poem in the dungeons where my ancestors were held in squalid conditions before being torn from their Motherland and shipped from Cape Coast (one of them was called ‘The Good Ship Jesus’).  I performed it right on the spot where my ancestors were held captive. It was also the 8th anniversary of my grandmothers passing:

It took me a year to write about my experiences in Ghana, but the last two chapters of my revised Self-help novel now titled ‘Journey of a Sister’ are based upon my experiences there. Get your paperback here (ships worldwide).

Anyway, the following day (Friday), I went to see the play ‘So You Think I’m Crazy?’ at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Tottenham, North London.  Brilliant acting, which again portrayed the many ways my people are under psychological attack – this time through the Mental Health system.  Here’s a clip:

Religion, mainstream media, the food we eat, the music we listen to, and the (mis) education system, are some of the ways we battle psychological warfare.

Along my own Self-healing journey, I studied how the mind works in order to heal myself from depression and self-sabotage.  I learnt that our childhood programming determines how we think and act as adults.  As someone who was indoctrinated into a religion from a very young age, it took me years to un-indoctrinate myself.  On top of that, I’m still going through the process of re-programming my subconscious mind from the negative words and beatings I received as a child (that’s how deep it goes!)  I now know that the whippings my ancestors received were to break them down mentally in order to control them physically.  My parent’s generation were simply enacting their genetic coding of beating their children mercilessly, being emotionally detached from them, speaking negatively to them (e.g. “You are worthless/good for nothing/ugly…”), and taking them to church to be indoctrinated to be humble servants.  I am grateful for my upbringing, because that’s what has led me to the path I’m on today; to help my people ‘break free from mental slavery’.

Religion is a Mind Control tool.  When coupled with the slave mentality, it leaves our minds weak and susceptible to any suggestion made to them.  I seek to work with those who are raising the next generation, because as Frederick Douglas said, “It’s easier to raise strong children than to mend broken adults”. If you are committed to the process of healing, read my Self-help books!

After watching the film ‘Sankofa’ in 2010, I cried out to my ancestors and asked them what I could do to help my people heal.  The following morning, I played the guitar track and recorded ‘We Belong Together’ in my home studio (I recorded it first, then wrote it after – it was channeled!):

Since then I’ve also written ‘Journey of a Sister’ and ‘How to Get the Ring On Your Finger’ (which has contributions from over 30 brothers).  Both books look at how our PAST has affected the way we relate to each other TODAY. They will help you begin the process of Self-healing, and help you build Self Love, Love for your race, Self-dignity and Pride in who you are.

These are the legacies I am leaving for my commUNITY, read them!  You can download ‘How to Get the Ring On Your Finger’ FREE when you subscribe, or get both paperbacks signed by me from the Books page for only £14.99! (ships worldwide, Paypal will convert currency).

This Sunday I’m doing a Presentation at the Launch of ‘Kings & Queens United’, a new platform aimed at helping us ‘re-create our bonds’.   My interactive talk will be based on the topics raised in ‘How to Get the Ring On Your Finger’, and I’ll also be performing my poem ‘R U The One?’  This is a Dinner & Discussion type of event, download the e-book of ‘How to Get the Ring On Your Finger’ FREE, and come and join in the discussion!  Book your ticket here, which includes a Caribbean buffet meal!

When I first had the idea to write a novel, my original plan had simply been to write ‘Black Erotica’  (I wrote all the sex scenes first!)  But when I actually started constructing the story, it took on a life of its own!

46,000 words were ‘channelled’.  By that, I mean I didn’t have to think about what I was writing; it was more like taking dictation.  All I was doing was going to bed at 8pm (as I do during the winter months!), waking up at 4am, and writing until 6am.  Sometimes I would wake up and it was like I was watching a film; the scene before me was so vivid, and I could feel all the emotions as well.  All I had to do was write what I was ‘watching’.

After 3 months of this, I had written 46,000 words and thought the book was finished!   But a novel is 70,000-90,000 words!  I left it for 8 months, and returned to it the following winter, doing the same thing I’d done the previous year; went to bed at 8pm, woke up at 4am and waited for the inspiration to start flowing.  Nothing happened.  After 3 months of this, I realized I was just going to have to get on with it!

It turned out that the rest of the book was research I needed to do.  I had been given the most beautiful story-line, but I had to do the rest of the work my Self.

The book has plenty of wisdom in it, which I don’t take credit for; I need this book just as much as you do!  Here’s an extract from Year Ten:

Men Talk

That night, Charles and his group of men were chilling in their villa.

“I still can’t believe you’re getting married!” commented Dave, glugging from a cold can of beer.

“Why’s that such a big shock to you?” Charles asked his Best Man.

“Well look how long we’ve known each other Charles; you’ve always been really particular about the women you date, and now here you are getting married to a woman with two kids!”

“They’re not kids Dave, they’re young men, and they’re great.  I’m proud to be part of their lives.  Besides, when love strikes you’re powerless to resist and the circumstances don’t really matter.”

“So what’s so special about Suzanne?”  Peter, one of their old schoolmates asked.

“Yeah, why choose her over the woman you already have a child with?” asked another.

“…And she ain’t half bad looking either!” commented Dave, referring to Maria.

Charles looked around to make sure no-one else was within hearing distance.

“Promise me this won’t go any further than these four walls?” he whispered.

The other brothers crossed their fingers over their chests in half-solemn oaths.

“Well it’s like this…Suzanne and I…when we make love, it’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced before…seriously…it’s like we enter another world – I mean, we literally get transported into another dimension!”

The other brothers looked at each other before bursting into fits of laughter.

“That sounds like some freaky kinda sex, man!” one commented.

“So when you enter into this ‘other dimension’ what do you see; angels, aliens, or what?”

Charles remained silent.

“Aw, don’t take it to heart, we’re just messing with you bro…but was you serious about the aliens?” he asked again.

“I didn’t mention aliens,” Charles responded, getting up to refill his glass of water.

“How can I explain it?  This woman of mine, she’s like my soul-mate, you know?  If you seriously want to know what I’m talking about, I suggest you find your own goddesses and Queens.  Until you do, you won’t be able to enter the gateway that leads to heaven on earth.”

If you’ve read the First Edition (titled ‘Single, Spiritual…AND Sexual!’), you’ll be wondering what happens to Suzanne – and the baby.  Before I go any further, I want you to think of this chapter as symbolic.  This might help you understand its context better.  Think of it like this; do you have a dream, a goal,  or perhaps a book (your baby) which you haven’t yet accomplished? Are you going to nurture it, or let it die?

If you need to give birth to your dreams, goals and aspirations, when would NOW be the right time to take that first step?  Start the journey!

I haven’t been led to write another whole novel, so after spending 4 months in Ghana last year, I decided to revise the First Edition  and add two new chapters, Years 12 & 13!

The sequel is only available in the paperback (I’m just ‘following my spirit’!)

Printing them in colour means YOU’ll benefit from the COLOUR THERAPY in them – I healed myself from the symptoms of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) with my paintings, so if you lack energy, motivation and feel ‘down’ in the winter months, you’ll be healing yourself in more ways than one as you read!  Watch this video of my art to music by Fertile Ground:

Book Tour 2016

From April I’ll be hosting monthly Book Signing & Discussion Events in the UK and USA (mainly), were we will have fun discussing the topics raised in my Self-help books.  They will also be a good opportunity to ask me any questions and to meet like-minded people!    In May we will be discussing my other book ‘How to Get the Ring On Your Finger’ which is FREE to Read HERE.  My guest will be author of ‘The Secret Science of Black Male and Female Sex’ T.C. Carrier – you don’t want to miss this one either! Click on the link about to buy your personally signed paperbacks in advance, read them, then come and join in the discussion!

If you would like me to host a Book Signing & Discussion Event in your area, visit the Book Tour page for details (under ‘Book Cezanne‘).

I look forward to meeting you!

Lastly, a video of my poem-song ‘Love Attraction’ which features in Year Seven of my novel and is also used as a basis for ‘How to Get the Ring On…’:

Enjoy!   See you soon,
