Self Love Challenge Day Four: The Power of “I Am!” πŸ’₯

Welcome to Day 4 of my 5 Day Self Love Challenge! January 8th is Self Love Day, when we will honour ourselves with a Self Care Day!

Yesterday I explained the importance of spending time alone in the Silence. Did you do it? Share your insperience using the Contact Form below!

I spend about 70% of my time alone, not always in the Silence (I’m playing background music as I write this). I don’t go out to work, so if you do, the most important thing is to create a space in your day to declutter your mind.

One of the benefits I receive from spending time alone in the Silence is increased inspiration, or ‘downloads’ as I like to call them. As a Writer and Artist it’s important that I do this. For instance, last night I wrote a children’s story about the journey of a flower going from a seed buried in the dark soil, to full blossom!

All great minds, regardless of whether they’re artists or writers like myself, innerstand the importance of being alone in the Silence. As I explained yesterday, we’re ALL creative, because we all THINK.

This time of the year is a time for introspection, evaluation, and planning. Use this time to plan how you will commit to re-emerging as the beautiful butterfly you are meant to be.

Every year around this time I go into my ‘cocoon’ and focus on my inner world, so that I can re-emerge with something new. This year, I’m taking you with me on the journey!

Today we are focusing on the power of “I AM” statements. If you’ve ever tried working with Positive Affirmations, you might know that they work better for some things, than others. For example, I found them to be very effective in building confidence and self-esteem.

I was a blocked Writer and Artist for over 15 years, meaning I was creatively crippled. Positive Affirmations were instrumental in helping me reprogram my subconscious mind. However, repeating “I am rich!” seemed to have the opposite effect πŸ˜…

As we are working on Self Love, Positive Affirmations are a great way to boost your self-worth, make yourself feel good, and nurture yourself.

Today’s Self Love task is to write a list of “I AM…” statements, and make notes to yourself that you can leave around your home where you will see them every day as constant reminders of how great you are!

Did you remember to look in the mirror and tell yourself “I LOVE YOU” today?

Today’s affirmation is:

I wrote my poem “I Am What I WILL to Be!” when I first discovered the power of “I AM…” I used it to pep myself up in the mornings, and you can too! It features in Year Four of my novel Journey of a Sister:
