Looking for something different to do on a Tuesday Evening?
Then join me at the CLR James Library for the Toni Morrison Appreciation Evening, where I’ll be tracing her writing career from writing fiction as part of an informal group of poets and writers at Howard University, to winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1988, and the Nobel Prize in 1993! ย I’ll be reading extracts from her novels ‘The Bluest Eye’, ‘Sula’ and ‘Beloved’ (which was turned into a film starring Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover) and we will be discussing the social and political implications of them. ย This is being held at the CLR James Library, Dalston Lane, E8 3BQ between 6.30pm-8pm.
*This is a FREE event*ย supported by Hackney council, and organised by the House of AMAU Writer’s Group.

Join us for this inspiring evening honoring a great woman who has given so much to Black Literature and the voice of Black women especially!
Straight from there I’ll be rushing down the road to Passing Clouds for Poetry Meets Art! This is a fun evening which aims to raise awareness of the mineral conflict in the Congo
For details of both events visit my Events Page – hope to see you at one of them!
