It was so subtle; I was just minding my own business, happily getting my products ready to share with the world – when suddenly I had this great idea: build a website!
Build a website? I’m an Artist, Poetess and Author, not a website designer! “Where do I begin?” I wondered. Then I came across this great web hosting site: ‘GoDaddy.com’
I registered. I thought a website would help me promote my Self-help book ‘Single, Spiritual…AND Sexual!’ and its complimentary poetry CD ‘Seeds of Love’ to the Black Communityworldwide.
Since I didn’t have the funds to pay someone to do it for me, like with everything else I do, I trusted my in-tuition and did it my Self!
As usual, I went against the grain; I decided not to give my book an ISBN number or make it available mainstream through the usual outlets. I wrote it for the Love of ‘my people’, not for any and every body. With certain keywords assigned to my website, I would be able to target those who I want the book to reach.
The team at GoDaddy were really helpful as well; with just one week of intense focus and help from them, I had completed my website www.singlespiritualandsexual.com

As a Self-published Author 5% of my job was writing the book – now 95% of my work is MARKETING it! My website will definitely help – however, Word of Mouth is the BEST form of advertising, so if you’ve read my book and think the messages in it should be spread far and wide to ‘our people’, share the link with your friends and family!
P.S. A list of Black Bookshops who stock my book will soon be added to my website; Djed Bookshop in Shepherd’s Bush, Pempamsie in Brixton and Body Music in Tottenham to name a few!
I must say that overall Im really impressed with this particular site. You can easily see that youre enthusiastic about your writing. If only I had your writing ability I anticipate more updates and will be returning.
